Dr Bruce Kefford is an experienced leader having retired from the Victorian Department of Primary Industries as Deputy Secretary responsible for agriculture and fisheries research development and extension, biosecurity, emergency response and policy. He has a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of New South Wales.
Bruce is currently serving as Chair of the Gardiner Dairy Foundation board and Chair of the Biosciences Research Centre Joint Venture board. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia, a member of Ag Institute Australia and of the Australian Graduate School of Management. He is also Adjunct Professor of the School of Botany at La Trobe University.
Bruce was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2011 for outstanding public service and leadership in science and public administration associated with the primary industries sector.
