Our professional and skilled team work to achieve outcomes for Members through implementation of the Strategic Plan, and associated Annual Operational Plan. PHA’s national office is located in Deakin, Canberra with staff based in Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
Dr David Lovelock
David Lovelock joins PHA as Manager, Diagnostics.
Since 2018, David has been working as the Research Scientist and Diagnostician – Plant Virology and Bacteriology within Crop Health Services at AgriBio (DECCA). His role included providing diagnostic support within the laboratory and ensuring all diagnostic and research activities were completed within a timely manner. David managed a small team of four staff members. He comes with experience in liaising with clients and industry and ensuring their needs were met. David has been an active contributor in the National Diagnostic Protocols space by conducting reviews over the years and has been critical in the advancement of many NDPs.
Prior to this, David spent three years as the Senior Researcher on a Hort Innovation Project funded by the vegetable industry levy fund working on Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) following the outbreak in the NT in 2014. As the lead researcher on the three-year project, David collaborated with groups in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, researching the detection of CGMMV in infected soils.
David will be based in Melbourne.
