PHA Members have the opportunity to become signatories to the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed (EPPRD). As a formal legally binding document, EPPRD signatories play a role in the management of responses to an emergency plant pest (EPP), participate in decision-making and contribute towards the funding of approved responses.  Included in this planning is the potential for owner reimbursement costs for growers.

A national response is triggered when an exotic plant pest or disease is detected. National response arrangements are based on ‘all hazards, all agencies’ approach with government and industry working together to respond to the incursion.

PLANTPLAN is the agreed technical response plan used to respond to an emergency plant pest incident. It provides nationally consistent guidelines for response procedures under the EPPRD.
