ILO training strengthens biosecurity frontline

  • ILO training strengthens biosecurity frontline image

Industry Liaison Officers (ILO) are essential during emergency plant pest responses, serving as the link between the Incident Management Team and the affected industry party. Ensure your industry is ready for a plant pest response with Plant Health Australia’s free face-to-face ILO training.

PHA’s ILO training aims to help participants:

  • understand the role: learn about the incident management structure and the critical function of an ILO during a response
  • get ready: learn practical skills and knowledge to respond to biosecurity emergencies
  • build relationships: connect with government stakeholders and plant industries.

Participants gain more than just skills. They become response-ready, boosting your industry’s overall preparedness.

To strengthen your industry’s capability to plant biosecurity emergency responses, register for one of the workshops below:

  • Darwin, Northern Territory, 22 August 2024: register via the online form
  • Cairns, Queensland, 24 October 2024: register via the online form
  • Melbourne, Victoria, 7 November 2024: register via the online form

If you are a peak industry body with a membership base in the above jurisdictions, reach out to your members, growers, and state-based industry organisations to identify potential ILOs to undertake the training.

Curious about what to expect? Watch our video to hear previous attendees share their thoughts on what they gained from the workshop and how it has prepared them for the ILO role.
