Biosecurity training hubs continue to support capability
Plant Health Australia (PHA) will continue delivering two established biosecurity learning resources following new funding commitments for the National Biosecurity Training Hub and Youth Biosecurity Hub.
The National Biosecurity Training Hub provides a central place to find biosecurity training from approved providers across Australia. Since its launch in 2023, the Hub has grown to include close to 80 verified courses from 20 providers across the plant, animal and aquatic sectors.
By bringing training together in one place, the Hub makes it easier for people working across government, industry and the community to find learning opportunities relevant to their roles and build the knowledge and skills needed for biosecurity prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
The Youth Biosecurity Hub, launched in 2025, provides a dedicated national resource for educators, students and community groups. Curriculum-aligned lesson plans, activities and interactive resources help introduce young Australians to biosecurity and the role they can play in protecting Australia’s environment and agricultural industries.
Continued investment from the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and Agriculture Victoria will support PHA’s biosecurity training and education resources, strengthening the National Biosecurity Training Hub and Youth Biosecurity Hub and their role in connecting government, industry and the community with accessible, quality-assured biosecurity training.
This investment will allow PHA to continue supporting biosecurity knowledge and capability across Australia.
