Sarah wins JCU 2024 Chancellor’s Distinguished Award
We are extremely proud of Plant Health Australia’s (PHA) CEO, Sarah Corcoran, who won the 2024 Chancellor’s Distinguished Award from James Cook University (JCU) in Townsville on Friday, 30 August.
With a 30-year career in entomology, policy and biosecurity, Sarah is a celebrated leader and this award honours her excellence in biosecurity.
A JCU Alumni, Sarah has become a leading figure in biosecurity. Her early passion for nature, sparked by a road trip around Australia, led to a remarkable career protecting plant, animal, and human health. Now the CEO of PHA, Sarah’s grassroots experience drives national strategies to safeguard our environment.
Sarah graduated from JCU in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Zoology and Botany, with Honours in Freshwater Ecology, Sarah has crafted a stellar career protecting plant, animal, environment and human health.
Her passion for nature has been the foundation for a remarkable career journey where she has utilised grass roots experience to drive and implement strategy in multiple states and territories and nationally.
