Each year we focus on strengthening the partnerships that underpin a robust and resilient plant biosecurity system. Our strategic plan serves as a foundation, guiding our priorities towards building a response-ready, innovative, and integrated national approach.

At the end of November, we brought our Members together for a two-day event designed to foster collaboration and drive engagement between industry and government on key biosecurity priorities.

Our Member meetings this year provided valuable opportunities for open discussion and engagement and we greatly appreciate the time and insight shared by all who participated. Additionally, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) was a highlight with the PHA team sharing achievements and milestones from the past five months. It is always energising to see our Members come together to share their knowledge and experience.

This year, we were once again delighted to sponsor the Farm Biosecurity Producer of the Year Award at the Australian Biosecurity Awards held in Canberra. This prestigious accolade was awarded to Blaise and Shayne Cini who own and operate Edari Bananas, a banana farm in Innisfail, far north Queensland. We applaud their dedication and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of biosecurity on-farm. We are incredibly proud of the efforts of all involved and look forward to continuing to support and promote best practices across the sector.

As the year draws to a close, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and commitment to the Australian plant biosecurity system. PHA is excited to continue our partnerships in 2025.
