In collaboration with Cotton Australia, Plant Health Australia (PHA) recently hosted a face-to-face workshop, aimed at fostering a community of biosecurity guardians within the cotton industry. The event brought together cotton growers and agronomists to deepen their understanding of biosecurity practices and explore ways to enhance industry-wide protection.

Participants explored threats faced by the Australian cotton industry, learned about biosecurity responses, discussed industry pressures, and recognised the collective benefits of collaboration. Participants also engaged in identifying knowledge gaps and explored educational resources that can be used to enhance biosecurity awareness amongst cotton growers and influence positive change

The role of the Cotton Guardians will continue to evolve with participants keen to support an improved understanding of both on-farm and area-wide biosecurity practices within their growing regions.
