Plant Health Australia Limited (PHA) invites applications for four non-executive Director positions on our board.

PHA is a not-for-profit public company owned by our members, comprising all major plant industry bodies that represent Australian growers and beekeepers, the Australian Government, state and territory governments and a range of other industry partner organisations.

As the national coordinator of the government-industry partnership for plant biosecurity in Australia, PHA drives action to improve the plant biosecurity system and the capacity to respond to plant pest emergencies. The goal is to minimise pest impacts in Australia, enhance market access and contribute to industry and community sustainability.

PHA has a skills-based board made up of ten members. Due to rotation, four paid Director positions are to be filled.

Applicants will require previous board experience, Australian Institute of Company Directors qualifications and a combination of expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Plant industry production, industry operations and marketing as it relates to Australian plant biosecurity
  • Plant health policy and government policy processes, plant health management and international trends in plant health practices
  • Strategic planning, business and financial management and economics
  • Corporate leadership.

Interviewees will be required to verify all academic qualifications and industry accreditations.
