David is National Manager, Training and Engagement, leading national capability development to strengthen Australia’s plant biosecurity preparedness and response through training, exercising and stakeholder engagement.
With over 30 years’ experience in plant biosecurity, quarantine and emergency management, David has led major responses to pests including Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer, Queensland Fruit Fly and Red Dwarf Honey Bee.
He brings deep expertise in preparedness, response governance and risk-based decision-making, and is known for his practical leadership and strong partnerships across government and industry.
