PHA puts plant biosecurity in the spotlight at Hort Connections 2025
Plant Health Australia (PHA) brought a strong biosecurity presence to Hort Connections 2025, marking the first time PHA hosted its own stand at Australia’s leading horticulture conference and trade show. Held in Brisbane from 4–6 June, the event attracted more than 3,000 delegates, providing PHA with an ideal platform to connect with growers, researchers and industry leaders.
PHA’s stand and 3D printed bugs sparked plenty of interest, drawing visitors keen to learn more about biosecurity programs, resources and how everyone in the supply chain can play a role in safeguarding Australia’s plant industries. Attendees collected a range of fact sheets and flyers designed to raise awareness and support best practice on-farm and beyond.
PHA Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Corcoran, said the organisation’s presence at Hort Connections highlights the importance of collaboration in biosecurity.
“Sharing the biosecurity message with representatives from across the vegetable, fruit and floral sectors. Events like this help us strengthen connections across the horticulture industry and ensure everyone understands their role in protecting plant health.”
This year’s Hort Connections focused strongly on resilience, innovation and collaboration, principles that underpin PHA’s strategic priorities. Engaging directly with stakeholders at events like Hort Connections, enables PHA to build cross-sector biosecurity awareness.
