PHA Board Meeting 121 Communique
On Thursday 27 November 2025, the Plant Health Australia (PHA) Board of Directors met in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT) for Board Meeting 121 (BM121).
The Board received a number of updates and progress reports to support discussion on several key strategic, financial, operational, compliance and people matters, including:
- PHA’s compliance with obligations under the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed (ERPPD) management and key EPPRD activities and outcomes
- implementation progress of the Enterprise Resource Planning system
- the current cyber threat environment and PHA’s cybersecurity strategies
- outcomes from the Annual General Meeting and other Member meetings.
During the meeting, Mr Doug Phillips was appointed as Chair, and Dr Jeremy Burdon as Deputy Chair. Ms Kathy Kelly was elected to continue as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee and new Board Directors were appointed to the Board Sub-Committees. The Board expressed its appreciation for Mr Kim Halbert, the outgoing Chair, for his contribution to the PHA Board.
The next meeting of the Board will be Board Meeting 122 (BM122) on Tuesday 24 February 2026 in Canberra, ACT.
