Stef joins us following her role as a Research Scientist with Biosecurity Queensland. Stef has a diverse background spanning epidemiology, surveillance and data platforms, bioinformatics, molecular genomics, integrated pest management and cross-sector collaboration. With experience in government, research and industry, she brings scientific and practical perspectives to support Australia’s plant biosecurity system.

Stef is particularly interested in how surveillance design, epidemiology and predictive modelling can inform decision-making in biosecurity. She is also passionate about improving data quality, governance and interoperability within plant health systems. She values engagement with national partners and industry to ensure surveillance data are consistent, accessible and useful.

Stef is committed to strengthening plant biosecurity through evidence-based practice, digital innovation and collaboration, informed by a systems approach spanning the biosecurity continuum.
