Kathy Kelly

Director/Acting Company Secretary

Kathy Kelly is a Chartered Accountant with over thirty years of board level experience across the public, commercial and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Economics and is a Registered Company Auditor. She is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand. Kathy is also a Director and Chair of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee of Landcare NSW Limited and a Director of the Ginninderry Conservation Trust. Kathy was an Executive Director of the Mulloon Institute Limited, a leading research, education annd advocacy charity focused
on landscape and water cycle restoration. Through these companies, Kathy has developed an appreciation of natural capital and biodiversity and the links to biosecurity.

From 1989–2019 she was a Director at Boyce Chartered Accountants, the largest regional accounting firm in Australia. Based in Cooma NSW, she managed the office and provided specialist tax and audit services to  agribusinesses and business advisory services. Kathy has developed an understanding of the agriculture sector and the risks and issues facing boards and has deep and practical knowledge of the accounting and tax issues in agricultural and related agribusiness entities.

Direct experience in agriculture includes cotton, wheat and cereal crops, both irrigated and dryland; sugar; viticulture; almonds, apple, stone fruit and citrus trees; cattle and sheep grazing, poultry meat and eggs; forestry;  grain marketing and water licence leasing. Kathy has had various appointments including advising the Australian Government on the industry impacts of legislation and ‘red tape’ in small business and was on the Advisory Committee to the Minister for Small Business and R&D Tax Incentives.
