Evie Kielnhofer

Project Officer, Biosecurity Planning

Evie is a Project Officer in the Biosecurity Planning and Preparedness team, supporting industry and government partners to strengthen preparedness through risk assessments, literature reviews on exotic plant pests, and the development of Biosecurity Plans, Manuals and extension materials. She is committed to strong partnerships and clear communication to help protect Australia’s plant industries and environment.

She previously worked in PHA’s Digital Systems team, supporting the Australian Plant Pest Database (APPD) and Pest and Disease Image Library (PaDIL), and provided Secretariat support to both steering committees.

Before joining PHA, Evie was a Senior Biosecurity Officer at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), conducting national biosecurity risk assessments for imported plant commodities. She has a Bachelor of Science (Plant Science) from the University of Melbourne and completed a CSIRO summer scholarship.

Outside work, Evie enjoys music, arts and crafts, reading, gardening, learning German and exploring nature.
