PHA offers three categories of Membership, each with specific eligibility requirements, and unique benefits and responsibilities:

  1. Government Members that consists of the Australian Government as well as state and territory governments
  2. Plant Industry Members for national peak industry bodies representing growers of a crop/s
  3. Associate Members for those with an interest in plant health or the Australian plant industry

    Input into and agreement on current and future needs of the plant biosecurity system including issues, solutions, strategies and policy with the view to strengthening the plant biosecurity system.

    • provide a liaison point to help industry understand plant biosecurity risks and pathways and the national biosecurity picture 
    • navigate biosecurity incidents and responses by reducing uncertainty, providing clarity on roles, unpacking complexity and guiding discussions 
    • provide advice on the identification, prioritisation and delivery of biosecurity investments 
    • ensure continuity of support and plant biosecurity knowledge.


  • Access to a national repository of plant biosecurity information

    Provision of trusted, relevant, relatable, and reliable national repository of plant biosecurity information and fit-for-purpose resources including pest and disease alerts and monthly biosecurity news round-ups.


  • Support with on-farm risk mitigation programs

    Through biosecurity planning and preparedness activities to boost incursion response capacity and capability:

    • access to collaborative biosecurity planning to identify, prioritise, and manage key exotic pest and disease risks to focus individual and collective efforts to deliver the greatest impact
    • access to industry focused on-farm programs that develop and promote farm management and hygiene practices to reduce the impact of a pest or disease incursion, set up business continuity and support protocols and standards required for market access.


  • Access to nationally integrated digital systems

    To capture, validate, and use biosecurity data to create intelligence to support and inform real-time, evidence-based, decision-making and support market access.


  • Facilitation services

    The provision of facilitation services.


  • Networking and connection

    Opportunities to network and connect with other Member industries and hear from industry and biosecurity experts.
