PHA Board Meeting 122 Communique

On Tuesday 24 February 2026, the Plant Health Australia (PHA) Board of Directors met in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT) for Board Meeting 122 (BM 122).

The Board received a number of updates and progress reports to support discussion on several key strategic, financial, operational, compliance and people matters, including:

  • PHA’s compliance with obligations under the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed (ERPPD) management and key EPPRD activities and outcomes
  • PHA’s cybersecurity strategies
  • the draft Annual Operational Plan (AOP) progress and budget development
  • approving the Mid-year Performance Report (MYPR)
  • challenges within the operating environment and the tension between funding constraints that limit organisational capacity and the increased demands on the PHA team
  • reviewed internal policy updates to ensure Board governance oversight.

During the meeting, the Board also:

  • welcomed the incoming CFO, Mark Murray
  • passed a resolution to hold the 25th PHA General Meeting (GM) on Thursday 21 May 2026 in Adelaide.

The next meeting of the Board will be Board Meeting 123 (BM 123) on Tuesday 19 May 2026 in Adelaide, SA.
