The EPPRD provides the framework for managing EPP responses. Underpinning the EPPRD is PLANTPLAN, the agreed technical response plan used by jurisdictions and industry in responding to an EPP incident. It provides nationally consistent guidelines for response procedures under the EPPRD, outlining the phases of an incursion (investigation, alert, operational and stand down), as well as the key roles and responsibilities of industry and government during each of these phases. It incorporates best practice in EPP responses is updated regularly to incorporate new information or address gaps identified by the outcomes of EPP incident reviews.
PLANTPLAN is an appendix to the EPPRD and is endorsed by all signatories. PLANTPLAN is supported by individual industry biosecurity planning that covers industry and pest specific information, risk mitigation activities and contingency plans.
PLANTPLAN also provides a focus for training personnel in operational response and preparedness procedures.
Nationally Agreed Standard Operating Procedures Nationally Agreed Standard Operating Procedures (NASOPs) have been developed for use by jurisdictions during responses to incidents and emergencies. NASOPs are centrally hosted on the Animal Health Australia website. |
