Changes to Biosecurity Online Training sites

August 19, 2016

An upgrade to the Biosecurity Online Training (BOLT) sites of both PHA and Animal Health Australia on 19 August enables users to access both training sites using the same login details.

Users will also be able to see all completed courses on their My Learning page after login. To enrol in new courses, you will still need to access either the PHA or AHA BOLT site for the relevant course.

If you are already registered as a PHA BOLT user, you will need to reset your password the next time you visit the site.
Currently there are four courses available on the PHA BOLT site:

  • PHA Foundation – provides an introduction to Australian biosecurity system, key elements of the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed and an overview of emergency responses. This course takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
  • National Emergency Plant Pest Response Management – developed for Consultative Committee on Emergency Plant Pests and National Management Group representatives who are new, not regularly involved in Incidents, or would like to refresh their knowledge on the roles and responsibilities of the two committees. This course takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete, depending on your level of experience.
  • Reporting a Suspect Emergency Plant Pest (EPP) – provides an overview of the EPP reporting process and guidance for researchers, growers and other stakeholders about what to report. This course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
  • Honeybee Biosecurity – provides an overview of honey bee biosecurity practices and aligns with the Biosecurity Manual for Beekeepers. This course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
