Mandy Gyles

Communication Manager

Mandy Gyles joined Plant Health Australia as Communications Manager in June 2018.  She brings to the role a good understanding of plant biosecurity, having worked as a stakeholder engagement specialist with the biosecurity plant division of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, and previously producing the department’s Biosecurity Australia News.

Mandy has built her career as an agricultural communications specialist following completion of a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and a Masters in Rural Science.

She has worked as a rural reporter with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, as a communicator with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research, the Australian Agency for International Development and the Pig Research and Development Corporation, and as a consultant to a wide range of agricultural agencies.

Her fascination with international agriculture and development, has also led Mandy to work in the Pacific, India, Cambodia and Africa.
