Bosibori (Bosi) Bett

Project Officer

Dr Bosibori (Bosi) Bett is a project officer at PHA. In this role she works with the Preparedness and the Research, Development and Extension (RD&E) teams.

Prior to working at PHA, Bosi worked as a Project Officer and Research Assistant at the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), contributing to the management of bilateral, multilateral and co-investment projects and regional initiatives. She also worked at the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization in several collaborative roles within pest and disease management of crops under projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Bosi completed her PhD (Agricultural Biotechnology) at CSIRO and Queensland University of Technology where she utilised genetic engineering to enhance the resilience of Bt cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) for insect resistance management. Her research experience includes the fields of molecular biology, bioinformatics, biosafety and regulation of GM crops, plant disease diagnostics, plant tissue culture, insect rearing and heterologous protein expressions; with skills in project management, training and stakeholder engagement.
