David Schlipalius is the new Bee Biosecurity Officer (BBO) for Queensland while Rebecca Laws is on leave.
David has been a research entomologist for more than 20 years and has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Entomology and a PhD in Genetics. He has previously worked on the genetics of honey bees and their behaviour and also has experience in the grains industry in pest management, pesticide resistance and related biosecurity issues. He previously worked on the National Khapra Beetle Response Program as a diagnostician and is very excited to be working with bees again as the new BBO for Queensland.
