Enrolments open for two biosecurity courses

February 9, 2015

Enrolments are now open for two courses in biosecurity: the Plant Biosecurity Program 2015 and a new short course, Biosecurity Threats and Invasions.

Plant Biosecurity Program 2015

Enrolments in the Plant Biosecurity Program for 2015 are now open. Graduates will gain knowledge and understanding of plant biosecurity at the highest level of industry requirements. The program will also develop your ability to analyse, evaluate and synthesise information from scientific and regulatory sources, and apply effective solutions to problems with changing contexts.

New short course in biosecurity

Biosecurity Threats and Invasions is a new short course that will be run from 7-13 May 2015.

In this short course attendees will be introduced to the international frameworks that drive global biosecurity and the Australian biosecurity system. Using real-life examples and case studies you will learn about preparedness, surveillance, diagnostics, emergency response and management of pests and diseases threatening to invade Australia.

Assessments will be optional but credit towards relevant postgraduate degrees will be awarded if the course is completed and passed.

Enrolments are now open: contact Dr Kirsty Bayliss for more information.
