Melanie Bottrill has a Bachelor of Science (with honours) from the University of Tasmania, majoring in plant science and environmental studies. Her honours thesis was on the role of native bees in the fertilisation of Australian native plants.
Mel has volunteered for the Tasmanian Seed Conservation Centre at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and Conservation Volunteers Australia. Prior to graduating at the end of 2013, Mel worked in administrative and research assistant roles at the University of Tasmania.
At PHA she will mainly be working on bee and fruit fly related matters.
