Jess Lehmann

Project Officer

Jess Lehmann started working at PHA in April 2019 as a Project Officer for a range of farm biosecurity programs.

Prior to working at PHA she has had a varied career including work with the NSW DPI Integrated Pest Management team at the Australian Cotton Research Institute in Narrabri,  the University of New England in the Animal Nutrition team and the Australian Research Council in project administration.

Jess also has experience working for an online company called Rural Room as their Regional Community Development Manager. In this role she has regular engagement with rural communities. She listens to their stories and shares their perspectives in creative ways across many digital networks.

In 2017 Jess was one of the Young Cotton Farming Champions for the Cotton Research and Development Corporation. She is also a regular attendee of the Australian Cotton Conference and was recently invited to address participants in the Future Cotton Leaders Next Generation: Farming in the age of Twitter workshop. The focus of the workshop was on how social media can be a useful tool for the agricultural industry to talk to the world about what it means to farm in Australia.
