National Manager, Horticultural Cropping
Alison Saunders joined Plant Health Australia in September 2014 as Program Manager, Biosecurity Planning and Implementation, and is now National Manager, Horticultural Cropping.
Alison has spent several years managing research and development programs for plant based industries such as native foods, wildflowers, essential oils, truffles, exotic tropical fruits, cocoa, coffee and nut crops. This experience has involved raising awareness of on-farm biosecurity, development of biosecurity plans, and responding to exotic incursions, developing chemical and breeding tools as industries transition to management of pests and diseases.
Alison has a background in forest ecology and climate change research from the Australian National University and CSIRO Forestry and has direct experience as a horticultural producer.
