Darral Ashton has over 35 years’ experience in horticultural production and marketing. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an Associate Member of the Australian Marketing Institute and has a Diploma in Marketing Management from the International Marketing Institute in Boston (Harvard) USA.
Darral was a Director of Horticulture Australia Limited and on the Horticulture Advisory Panel to the CRC for Plant Biosecurity. Darral was a Director and Chairman of Apple and Pear Australia Limited (APAL). APAL represents the interests of commercial apple and pear growers in Australia. He was heavily involved in biosecurity and market access negotiations on behalf of the industry for many years.
Darral was the Chairman of the Batlow Fruit Co-Operative Limited, a former Director of Southern Phone Company Limited, and was awarded the Sir John Monash Gold Medal for Agribusiness Co-operative Directors by Monash University in 2007.
